Denne karen,
alias julefuglen dompap,

This fellow, a red coloured, male Pyrrhula pyrrhula,
is still visiting us these days, during the early Norwegian summertime.
Traditionally, this type of bird is present in traditional, Norwegian Christmas decorations,
like being a frequent motive on old Christmas postcards.
The males have their decorative red colour in front, while the females being greyish
Until recently, we used to have three couples of these birds in our garden.
I wonder where they are now, and what they are up to.
Maybe being busy feeding small ones in their nests?
I have found a list, which hopefully will present reliable translations of names for this bird
